Why social democracy is not a civil society regime in Norway
The Scandinavian voluntary sectors are often labelled as 'social democratic'.1 Does this help us make sense of their main characteristics and evolution? And what type of civil society are we talking about? We focus on the one part of civil society, which is invariably included in any definition, namely voluntary organizations. We refer to them as 'organized civil society'.
